Nancowry
Nicobar Islands
Nancowry refers both to a single island, and to the group of adjoining islands, that are a part of the Nicobar Islands chain. This island is located south-southeast of Car Nicobar. There are little more than 800 people residing in this island. This group is the central group of the Nicobar group. Nancowry Group of Islands are accredited as the most beautiful islands in the Nicobar group. The Nancowry division consists of few more islands which are named Kamorta, Chowra, Trinket, Kachal, Nancowry, Teresa.
The entry in these Islands is prohibited to outsiders and would have to get a permit to enter. Between Nancowry and an Island called Comerty, there is a safe harbour which is quite spacious too. Within the harbour, on the nothr side of nancowry, a settlement called The Danes have retained themselves protected by few soldiers and some slaves too.
